How Learning and Progress Work

Pip’s Classroom offers supplemental activities for kindergarten through sixth grade. Families can choose reading, writing, math, science, social studies, feelings, music, and art, with 100 activities in each main subject route.

Demonstration, practice, and application

Pip introduces a skill with an example. Learners practice varied tasks and use clues or models when helpful. Activities revisit missing skills and prerequisites; completing ten easy tasks does not establish readiness in every subject.

Stars celebrate participation

Unique completions earn stars. Adventure levels change after ten and twenty completions, and celebrations appear every ten. Reviews can earn participation leaves without duplicate stars. Garden friends remain permanent; a missed day does not remove them.

Learning evidence is a separate record

For grown-ups shows introductions, practice, support use, attempts, and adult observations separately from stars. A pilot looks for four first-try independent successes among five varied checks across at least two sessions separated by 30 minutes. This is a product hypothesis for educator review, not an Idaho proficiency cutoff.

Creative work, writing quality, oral reading, physical investigations, and real-world social behavior require a person's observation. A participation checkbox does not prove a skill has been mastered.

What the standards references mean

The activity maps reference Idaho content standards. Some subjects use multi-grade bands. The maps describe partial coverage, not a complete curriculum, a validated assessment, or state approval. Human educator and cultural review remain pending. Grade guides link to the available activity-level review packets.

Listening and privacy

Listen plays AI-generated narration of the game's approved, fixed text. The site does not record children's voices. Written drafts and drawings remain on the activity screen and are not uploaded or retained when you leave. Save longer work on paper or in your own editor.

Completion IDs, attempt outcomes, support use, and adult-reported observations can be saved. Guests in one browser share a garden; clearing browser cookies can lose access to that guest garden. An optional grown-up account supports progress across devices. Site usage counts are aggregated without attaching child answers to those counts.

Accessible, flexible practice

Activities support phone, tablet, and desktop browsers, large touch controls, Listen and Help, and a motion-off option. There is no answer timer. Grown-ups can turn off automatic advancement, and open-ended tasks always wait for Next. Some activities need an adult, paper, a reference, or safe real-world materials.
